Do you need to plug into something positive?

When I say the word motivation what do you think of?

It’s simply your MOTIVE TO TAKE ACTION

And it’s not either there or not. At times we use the age-old excuse – “I’ve lost my motivation” – but it’s not really lost, is it? It’s simply focused on something else!

  • More motivated to sit on the sofa than take yourself out for a walk
  • More motivated to stay in bed than get up and make a healthy packed lunch to take to work
  • More motivated to temporarily numb out with unhealthy foods than distract yourself with something more healthful

I get it, I’ve been there, I’ve definitely got the T shirt.

So how on earth do we stay focused?

The key here is to never lose sight of your GOAL. Your WHY.

And that’s so much easier if have made a commitment to your goal AND it is important to you. Turn your CAN’Ts into CANs.

When you feel like you can’t be bothered to get up 15 minutes early to do your home workout, or to take 20 minutes to organise your food prep, or to get outside for a 20 minute walk on your lunch break …. reconnect with your WHY.

What is your motive to take action?

What is the reason that prompted you to get started in the first place? What are you trying to move TOWARDS (i.e something you do want) or move AWAY from (i.e something you don’t want any more)

Was it …………?

* To lose body fat and feel happy with yourself in your own skin and in your favourite clothes?

* To be as healthy as you possibly can be and feel alive

* To be a positive role model to your family?

* To improve your mental well-being?

* To increase your self-esteem and confidence?

* To not be ill and become bulletproof from health niggles and avoid a lifetime of pill popping

Ask yourself ‘Are you sick and tired of feeling sick and tired’?

You insert your WHYS. If your WHY is super important to you nothing will deter you. You will move mountains to obtain your goals.

Use daily reminders, affirmations, visuals, make yourself accountable by sharing in a group or with a buddy looking to achieve the same goal.

Ask yourself ‘What do I want more? And then ask yourself WHY is this so important to me.
